Helloooo snow. After hiding out in the apartment for most of Saturday while a record-setting blizzard swept through the city, we woke up early on Sunday morning to go exploring. While well over 2 feet of snow blanketing the streets looked pretty incredible, Central Park was something different altogether. It was pure Winter magic.

FAUX FUR COLLAR AND CASHMERE LAYERS

Winter style: Faux fur collar and cashmere layers

Somehow, we went from 70 degrees on Christmas Day to ‘I can’t feel my hands, face, anything’ cold over the past couple of days (note: these pictures were taken over the weekend when exposed ankles were still an option). Luckily, layers of cashmere, a warm coat and a dash of faux fur make frigid temps – temporarily – bearable.

FALL CLASSICS WITH RESTRICTED SHOES

Fall classics - black pleated skirt and cashmere scarf

Whenever a new season comes along it can be easy to fall into the trap of running out and buying all the trendiest things – and sometimes trendier items like a bold poncho or bright skirt can be great because they make your wardrobe feel totally fresh. But never underestimate the power of keeping a good stock of season-less classics on hand. Case in point – this black pleated skirt, simple v-neck sweater, cashmere scarf and black pumps. They’re the pieces that I reach for again and again at the start of a busy day.
