During my stint at NYFW I played up a few of the season’s big trends (Seventies Style here and Bold Prints/Bomber Jackets here) – but by far one of the trends that I’m most excited about this season is dark Fall Florals. They’re obviously pretty but there’s also a slight seductiveness about them that is just begging for a brisk Autumn date night.
SHOP THE STORY
I’m not kidding when I say that I wore this exact outfit 3 times last week. Once to work with flats, once exactly as pictured here for a date night with Adam (we saw an advanced screening of the movie Mr. Church with Tasting Table at the Crosby Street Hotel’s private theater in Soho – such a fun night out!), and once with suede ankle boots for jury duty (I’ll try to contain my excitement about that ongoing saga…). For the date night version, I paired the dress with this marigold crossbody bag, wide choker (it’s actually dark navy velvet but I actually wore it wrong side out here so that it brought off the periwinkle blue shade in the dress) and the dreamiest grey suede lace-up heels. I picked up all of the accessories from the ShopStyle party during Fashion Week – probably the most well curated event I’ve ever attended. It’s intended to be an industry event to meet with brands and other bloggers but it’s basically like walking into my dream store/home with well-curated corners, racks of the season’s prettiest things, Instagram-worthy city views and did I mention endless bubbly? It’s no wonder I walked out carrying a bag brimming with Fall accessories.
