NYFW LOOK 2: PLAID COAT AND DENIM JACKET

On Sunday I spent the morning dashing from one cab to another (that biting cold was not good for my wallet) before hunting down my Valentine and a nice warm meal for brunch. I’d been saving this plaid coat for the occasion but once I realized it wouldn’t be enough to combat 1 degree temps I added this denim jacket underneath. 40 degrees this week has never felt so good.

I was lucky enough to grab a hair appointment with Tresemmé Sunday morning and knew I wanted something that would survive the winds while still looking chic. This side braid and loose waves tucked into a low bun were just the thing. The rest of the look was all black everything – which fit right in when I went backstage to cover hair and makeup at Derek Lam’s runway show – where the coolest group of models (not to mention beautifully diverse) showed up in the hue from head to to before changing into the designer’s Fall/Winter ’16 line.
