While I’m all for a bold floral print or a peppy stripe – there’s something kind of beautifully simple about a monochrome look. Even more so if it’s white on white.

If there’s one thing my Mom preached, it was to keep me head up when things looked bleak and that the sun will always come out tomorrow. Turns out (as often was the case).. she was right. And this weekend the sun finally came back out to play. So on Mother’s Day – I borrowed from my Momma again (via her 1970s style) and was inspired to throw together this outfit for a Sunday afternoon trip to Bryant Park.

At this point I’ve talked about how awful this New York weather is to anyone who will listen. My co-workers, my building’s super, the lady in the checkout line of the grocery store, all of you.. it’s truly become exhausting. So I’ll spare you and instead end the week with this easy as 1,2,3 outfit.

There’s something fairly magical about watching the season’s change in Central Park. So on Saturday, Adam and I went to take in a bit of that magic in the late afternoon light. Since we did quite a bit of walking, I kept it comfortable in flat espadrilles and a classic shirtdress.
