My second day of NYFW was arguably one of my most fun – and I like to think that had a lot do with this outfit. I talked about it yesterday, but I like to go bolder than my typical style when it comes to Fashion Week and head to toe polka dots with a pop of sunny yellow surely qualifies, right? For this look I played up the bomber jacket trend which is everywhere for Fall. This one is my pick of the season because it’s reversible – lively dots on one side, essential cool black on the other. Win, win.
SHOP THE STORY
Post-NYFW I’ll be pairing these dotted trousers with a crisp white button down for the office and this bomber with boyfriend jeans for weekend running around. And this yellow crossbody bag with all of the above because it’s the perfect size and amazing quality (I got this same bag in black last year and have posted it approximately 100 times here on the blog since then.. you know the one). And because the marigold hue is infectiously happy. Anddddd as a little treat – you can get it (in any color or the Catie Crossbody) for 20% off with code NYFW16.
I started off this particular day by stopping into the Gregory Hotel (an adorable little boutique hotel in Midtown) for a hair appointment with Caravan NYC. My inspiration was a little bit 1950s to relate back to the polka dots but more edgy and modern so that I didn’t veer too retro. I love the textured ponytail and full bangs I ended up with. I wish Caravan could get me ready for work every morning.
From there I ran downtown to catch the Erin Fetherston show. And by ran I mean Adam zipped me down in the car… sorry Uber, I’ve got my own 5-star driver. Not only was the show gorgeous (I’ll be doing a full runway re-cap later this week) but I’ve been a fan of hers since I was a college student pouring over Vogue in my dorm room, so to see her 10th Anniversary show and attend the after party later that night felt really full circle and special.
