I can’t believe that we’re already in August and at the office, our interns are saying their goodbyes for the summer. One of the things that I’ve been asked most often by interns as they prepare to graduate are how they should go about building a work wardrobe. While I’ve always worked in environments that were ‘creative casual’ – I still maKe sure to be armed with a few key pieces each season that allow me to feel pulled together and professional. FALL CLASSICS WITH RESTRICTED SHOES

Fall classics - black pleated skirt and cashmere scarf

Whenever a new season comes along it can be easy to fall into the trap of running out and buying all the trendiest things – and sometimes trendier items like a bold poncho or bright skirt can be great because they make your wardrobe feel totally fresh. But never underestimate the power of keeping a good stock of season-less classics on hand. Case in point – this black pleated skirt, simple v-neck sweater, cashmere scarf and black pumps. They’re the pieces that I reach for again and again at the start of a busy day.
