BEST OF: FALL AND WINTER BOOTS

It’s officially the season for boots. A no brainer with a pair of jeans and just as easy with a dress – I love the versatility of a great pair of boots this time of year. I’ve been wearing the two black pairs in row 2 (lug sole and patent pointy toe) for several years now and I just got the middle pair in the top row and am SO excited to break them out.

While some of these are a bigger investment – I really believe in putting a bit of money into a great pair of boots or two that you know you’ll wear constantly and will hold up for years to come. I own about half of the pairs shown here and can personally vouch for the quality and comfort – and the others are all from brands that I really trust and love.

BEST OF: FALL BOOTS, HEELS AND FLATS

The Steele Maiden: Must Have Fall Boots, Heels and Flats

Is it just me or are Fall shoes the absolute best? Rich suede boots, fun little flats and the most decadent heels – I’ll take them all over sandals any day. As we speak I’m trying desperately to cram every last pair in my suitcase (did I mention Adam and I are headed off on a big trip Thursday night? Be sure you’re following on Instagram to see where we land!), but since I can’t take them all.. I figured I’d leave you with all of these to swoon over.

BOOTS & BOOTIES

From patent ankle booties to suede sock boots to slouchy knee high versions, Fall begs for a new pair of boots. Stick to versatile neutral shades and look for special details like wood heels or a touch of shearling.

SNEAKERS & FLATS

Embellished, plaid flannel, leopard print – sneakers & flats are more fun than ever this fall. Use them as an exclamation point on an otherwise casual outfit.

FRENCH CONNECTION FRINGE TWEED MINI SKIRT

The Steele Maiden: Fringe tweed skirt and over the knee boots

This week is quickly slipping by as Adam and I prep for our upcoming getaway – so in the meantime I’m bringing you this forgotten last look from NYFW. Truth be told – I ended up switching out of these boots for these sneakers about two hours into the day. But footwear aside this outfit was a good balance of fun/fashionable and effortless/comfortable aka that line I’m always trying to walk. Which is admittedly easier done in sneakers.

PINK STRIPE T-SHIRT: GIRL’S NIGHT OUT

Pink stripe t-shirt, leather bomber jacket and OTK boots

Yesterday, I went the way of classic romance for a Valentine’s Day look – but I thought it would be fun to share a look inspired by Galentine’s Day (all hail Amy Poehler for this gem of a holiday) or for any other fun Girl’s Night Out. And since I’m so newly obsessed with this pink striped t-shirt (under $20!) I’m also going to be wearing it in tomorrow’s post for a casual look. Apparently, I’m in the mood for love.

NYFW DAY 3: SUEDE OTK BOOTS

NYFW Street Style - OTK boots and vest dress

We’re in the home stretch of Fashion Week (it passed in it’s usual blur) and my schedule is starting to slow down. Which means I have time to look through all of the things that came down the runway and make sense of them in terms of next Spring’s trends (spoiler alert: Seventies style isn’t going anywhere). In the meantime, I wore this look on Saturday for a presentation at Pier 59 Studios. Let’s take a moment to talk about these bootsContinue reading “NYFW DAY 3: SUEDE OTK BOOTS”
