After spending most of Saturday running around Central Park in the snow, slipping and sliding.. and taking quite a few snowballs in the line of fire between Adam and his brother… the weather took a serious turn towards unbearable on Sunday. Which means lots of blankets, cups of tea, and when I MUST outside – layers.

Whether you have a fancy Thanksgiving dinner with family, a corporate Christmas party or an annual trip to see the Nutcracker – I find myself in need of at least one classic holiday style each year. One that’s less sequin mini dress and more polished midi skirt. This year I wanted to think beyond your typical red and green and went with a ‘winter whites’ inspired look with hints of navy and festive gold. New York Public Library: Cold Shoulder Top and Navy Midi Skirt

If there’s one thing my Mom preached, it was to keep me head up when things looked bleak and that the sun will always come out tomorrow. Turns out (as often was the case).. she was right. And this weekend the sun finally came back out to play. So on Mother’s Day – I borrowed from my Momma again (via her 1970s style) and was inspired to throw together this outfit for a Sunday afternoon trip to Bryant Park.

MIAMI: OFF THE SHOULDER TOP AND MIDI SKIRT

I’ve said it before – but sometimes the most simple outfits turn out to be my favorite. The first day we arrived in Miami I quickly threw on this off the shoulder top, perforated midi skirt, heeled sandals and metallic clutch and we ran out the door to explore our neighborhood and hit up happy hour.
