Hello from the other side. Of the East River that is. While I’m spoiled by the views from within Manhattan on the regular, over the weekend Adam and I decided to switch up the view by hopping over to Williamsburg. I went with easy, faded blues that just so happened to match that hazy skyline behind me.
Every year around this time I try to do a major spring closet cleaning. I unpack my warm weather clothes (kept packed away neatly in cloth baskets on higher shelves all winter) and take a look at what I really loved from the season prior and what I never did get around to wearing. Then I make a keep/donate/sell sorting system and re-stock my closet from there. It feels great not only to rid myself of things I’ve hung on to for too long (and give them to a new home), but it also serves as a clear indicator of what I truly need. Since spring shopping tends to have me all – dresses! heels! – it’s good to be able to truly asses what I need before I even think of adding something new. I tackled the challenge a couple of weekends ago and what I noticed I really need are neutral, go with jeans on a Saturday or a nice pencil skirt on a Tuesday, kind of shirts and blouses. Here – a few of the ones that caught my eye – all of them less than $100, but most of them less than $50!

Wearing Duskii Swimsuit via Carbon38 c/o – I’m wearing a size small for reference, bottoms are definitely less bum coverage than some of my other suits, so if you’re worried may want to size up – the material is great quality though and feels like it will really hold up
Last week’s trip was Adam and I’s first time visiting Miami and while it was originally booked largely due to the warm forecast and cheap flights – I can’t say enough good things now that I’m back. The international flavors, art deco architecture, miles of beaches, endless nightlife and dynamic art culture all mixed together to create a daily feast for the senses. If you’re on the East Coast (or elsewhere) and just survived a winter – it’s the perfect escape. Here – a must visit/eat/see list if you are thinking of saying ‘Bienvenidos a Miami’ anytime soon:
When it comes to a warm weather vacation, nearly every hour could be considered happy hour. And Miami had no shortage of places to enjoy a cocktail. On our last day, we explored the Port of Miami and I changed into these neutral suede sandals (super comfortable!) and a scallop print tunic dress to enjoy one last happy hour drink and you know, pretended I own that yacht (dubbed ‘Grand Luxe’) in the backdrop.
