Yesterday I launched part one of my ‘Complete Guide to the Holidays‘ which featured style inspiration & gifting ideas for the season ahead – and over the next couple of weeks I’ll be showing you the expanded posts and closer looks at some of those featured looks. Of everything we shot for the guide this feature on ‘His and Hers Holiday Style’ was by far my favorite. I’m lucky enough to always have Adam’s partnership behind the scenes/lense (that guide never would have launched on time had it not been for his tireless support) – but it was such a treat to have him with me in front of the camera as well. And in a classic ’54 chevy? All the better.

WARM TO THE CORE WITH UNIQLO HEATTECH

The Steele Maiden: Must Have Winter Activewear with Uniqlo Heattech

If you’ve been following along on Instagram then you know that at the start of the month I switched from my usual post-workday workouts to a morning routine. With an increasingly busy work/blog schedule leading into the holiday season, my 7PM workouts were only adding to my stress and felt more counter-productive than anything. But in the mornings – my mind is clear and I’m left feeling energized for the entire day ahead. Sounds great right?

There’s just one problem. As the colder days creep in, the number one thing that keeps me hitting snooze is the thought of leaving my warm bed and venturing out into the chilly morning air. Whether it’s just a brisk 5 minute walk to my nearby gym or a long run along the East River – I hate the thought of starting my day freezing cold. Which is where the Uniqlo Heattech collection comes in.

Wait – where did the weekend go?! Adam and I were busy all over town, and then out of town, shooting a bunch of holiday content that I can’t wait to share with you all (you’ll want to tune in on November 14th). So while I didn’t do much relaxing, I did wear this relaxed outfit on Saturday afternoon which involved my softest plaid boyfriend shirt and these comfy slip-on ankle boots.

WEEKEND STYLE IN STRIPED KNIT DRESS AND QUILTED VEST

The Steele Maiden: Weekend Style - stripe knit dress, quilted vest and white sneakers

A brunch-indulging, sidewalk-strolling, weekend-ready look.. because I am very ready for the weekend. I wore this striped dress, quilted vest and sneakers around town last Sunday when we spent most of the day enjoying this ongoing warm weather in New York and not having much of a schedule. Which is in stark contrast to the packed schedule I’ve got for this weekend – but at least I’ve got the relaxed outfit, right?

HOW TO WEAR BROOCHES ON A JACKET

The Steele Maiden: How to wear brooches on a cargo jacket for fall

Truth be told, I love a good ‘basic’ outfit. Skinny jeans, knee high leather boots, turtleneck sweater. It’s easy and always works. But I hate to feel boring when it comes to fashion, so I always try to incorporate one little signature touch to make an outfit feel unique. Adding a cluster of brooches to a jacket has long since been a favorite little style trick and I’m thrilled to see them making such a comeback this season.
