I’m not kidding when I say that after seeing 5 uninterrupted days of sunshine in the forecast (after what feels like a lifetime of cold, dreary days here in New York) – I ran out and bought a new sun hat. Luckily, this wide brim one was less than the cost of lunch in this town and (if the sun can keep the pattern up) then I’ll be getting plenty of wear out of it.

It seems, as evidenced by yesterday’s look, that I’ve officially been bitten by the off the shoulder (or OTS) bug. Coupled with OTK boots (over the knee that is) and this saucy little number was ready for a night out last Friday. As seen IRL (in real life.. and I swear I’m done).

Since Spring is still giving New York the cold shoulder, I decided to respond in kind this past weekend with this silky little Ramy Brook tunic dress. Sure, I had to pair it with jeans – and a not pictured coat – but it had been burning a hole in my closet ever since I picked it up at the Ramy Brook showroom last week.. so you know, practically an eternity.

Remember last Friday when I boasted I’d recently done my ‘spring cleaning’ and packed up all my winter clothes? Well this week started with me frantically digging for my coat as I ran 10 minutes late to work. 30 degree temps and a hectic few days followed leaving me more than ready for Friday… and is 60 degrees too much to ask for?

As someone who leaves the house at precisely 8:45 AM and many days don’t get back until damn near 8:45PM, I’m always looking for pieces that can work overtime. Lately, I’ve been applying that same mindset to my beauty/hair routine – trying to find products and styles that are quick but still look polished after a long day running around the city. This new denim dress and the looped low ponytail I managed last week are both perfect examples.
