The thing about snow in New York City is that on the first day or two it looks like this winter wonderland – and by the second or third day it’s all knee deep piles of slush at street crossings and piles of trash bags thawing out from under heaps of white. Which is to say – it’s lost a bit of magic. But we’re New Yorkers.. so we trudge on.
SHOP THE STORY
That or we escape to a tropical island. But since I don’t have anything booked (yet…) I jumped at the chance to pick up these leather ankle boots from my favorite Hawaiian brand, Olukai, instead. I figure they’re the next best thing to having my feet in the actual sand. Plus, they’re insanely comfortable in the meantime. That plus a blanket scarf (warm enough to make up for the fact that I momentarily ditched my winter coat) and a wool hat and leather gloves (just to give my usual knitted ones a break) and I felt ready to take on these monstrous winter streets.
