I love that quote by Lewis Carroll. Adam and I agreed from the beginning of our relationship that we’d rather spend money on shared travels than gifting each other ‘things’ for holidays and birthdays. There just isn’t a pair of designer shoes in the world that I’d prefer over you know.. seeing the actual world. So for my 30th birthday we went back to Charleston (a city we’d briefly stopped through on our drive cross country in 2012) and as a gift on the last day, Adam surprised me with details of our next trip. Hint.. it’s a big one! Here’s to a lifetime of adventures.

Meanwhile, back in New York and in real life I’ve already re-worn this exact same outfit and I think it’s going to be one that shows up often this summer. You all already know I love a good floral dress, eyelet dress or midi dress.. so one that combines all three? A trifecta of a dress I couldn’t pass up. The basket bag and sandals were new before our trip and they turned out to be perfect for sight-seeing. Adam and I typically do a ton of walking when we travel (it’s the cheapest and best way to really see a city!) and these lace-up sandals were super comfortable and this crossbody basket bag fit all my essentials without weighing me down. Perfect for getting lost down back alleys in Charleston or running from AM meetings to the office here in New York.
