Happy New Year friends! I’m starting off 2017 with a fresh perspective and fresh blooms. At the end of 2016, after a particularly busy and stressful couple of months.. I was feeling a little bit burnt out on ideas for this space. But by the magic of January 1st, today I woke up brimming with new ideas and things I can’t wait to share with you all. As well as a few resolutions of my own.

If you follow along on Instagram then you may have caught my ‘word’ for 2017: vision. In the literal sense it’s probably time that I give in to the fact that my vision isn’t getting any better and get contacts (even though it will mean getting over a fairly crippling hatred of eyedrops). But in the figurative sense, as I lead up to turning 30 in May I want to bring some of the things I’ve been envisioning for myself and my life into fruition. That means everything from training for and running another half marathon in the spring, to focusing on my career and new position as Art Director, to moving in and decorating a new apartment. Plus oh you know.. travel, saving money, taking French lessons, piano practice, making more time for friends and family and growing this blog in more ways than ever before… if you’re going to have vision you may as well go big. Does anyone else pick a word for their year? And if you have things you’d like to see more of around here in 2017, I’d love to hear!
In the meantime, I spent the first day of the year in the comfier than a cloud velvet joggers, striped tee (typical), and cozy bow scarf and beanie. They’re pieces I have a feeling I’ll be reaching for every weekend from now through Spring. Which.. I’m hoping comes sooner rather than later this year.

Believe it or not unlike the Brits in The ideal Exotic Marigold Hotel, who want to leave England I would really like to retire to England. I really like that country!
