Whether you have a fancy Thanksgiving dinner with family, a corporate Christmas party or an annual trip to see the Nutcracker – I find myself in need of at least one classic holiday style each year. One that’s less sequin mini dress and more polished midi skirt. This year I wanted to think beyond your typical red and green and went with a ‘winter whites’ inspired look with hints of navy and festive gold. This overall outfit is fairly simple – but the mix of fabrics make it feel really special to me. An ivory lace top and Italian flannel wool midi skirt topped with a navy velvet blazer (one of my top picks for the season!), metallic thread heels and faux fur scarf feel so rich and elegant all together. Not to mention an evening look that’s actually pretty warm!
And the added benefit of not putting all your money into a single dress for your holiday event, is that afterwards all of these pieces can be worn separately. I plan on pairing this velvet blazer with a pair of distressed jeans, this midi skirt with a cozy knit sweater and booties and this faux faur scarf over my regular winter jacket. Adding a touch of luxe to the rest of your wardrobe all season long.
