In the Summer especially I am all for easy, no-fuss pieces that can be mixed, matched and generally thrown on so I can run out the door and enjoy as much of the sunshine as possible. While that usually involves a lightweight, sundress – this side split maxi is just as easy and a welcome addition to some of the more predictable items in my closet.

This dress has a pretty, open crochet back that would look great at the beach tossed on over your swimsuit – but since on this particular day I was headed somewhere far less tropical (aka the office) I layered it with this boxy chambray shirt knotted at the waist, a pair of stacked heel sandals (seriously the most comfortable pair I own), and this tan leather saddle bag. This bag you guys! It was a birthday present to myself a few weeks back that pretty much fulfilled my 5+ year search for the perfect, seasonless, high quality, tan leather bag. Not too big, not too small. Not too trendy, not too boring. She’s the Goldilocks of my closet. Just right.
