2015 – you were quite a year. While not without its ups and downs, when I look back at this year on the whole I feel incredibly grateful for everything that it brought. To be completely honest with you, at this time last year I was thinking of throwing in the towel on this little blog. But instead I decided to redesign and refocus and I can’t tell you how happy I am that I did. And how happy I am that all of you have stuck around for the ride. There have been so many cool opportunities that came our way this year (remember when we met Taylor Swift?!) that made every second Adam and I spend on this labor of love completely worth it. So thank you, for every comment, visit and follow. For giving us a reason to always want to plan new stories, shoot new content and seek out new fashionable journeys. Here’s to 2016. I have a feeling it’s going to be a good one. Below – a roundup of my favorite places and posts from the past year. Click on the photos to see the original posts.
EUROPEAN ADVENTURE: Our travels this Fall to Copenhagen, Prague and Amsterdam were such a dream trip for us. Definitely a highlight of the year. And made us even more excited to plan some of our first trips of the new year!
HIS AND HERS: I convinced Adam to come out from behind the camera for special seasonal ‘his and hers’ posts – and it was so much fun to have him with me. Expect to see more of these in 2016!
EXPLORING NEW YORK: My resolutions each year always include travel, but they also include exploring more of the city I’m lucky enough to call home. From Wave Hill in the Bronx to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens to hidden corners of Manhattan like a secret garden in Central Park or the last remaining lighthouse.. we covered a lot of ground. I can’t wait to see what more we can find in 2016.
OUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME: Adam’s family’s cabin in the Poconos – just a couple hours drive from New York City – is always our favorite little weekend escape, no matter what the season. While my personal favorite is long lazy days on the dock in Summertime, I can’t argue with how beautiful and quiet it looks as the leaves change in the Fall.
WEEKEND ESCAPES: One thing I’m hoping to plan more of in the coming year are shorter weekend trips to new places. Our trips to Ocean City New Jersey (the quaintest little beach town) and Boston, MA were among our favorites in 2015. Even with just a few short days you really can see a lot of a new place!
THE STEELE MAIDEN X STEELE CANVAS: One of the highlights of 2015 was working with one of my favorite American made brands, Steele Canvas Basket Corp, to collaborate on a special bag. I designed a vintage-inspired duffle bag perfect for road trips, weekend escapes and everything in between. Seeing the Weekender Bag come to life from my initial sketches, working with their team, and ultimately seeing friends, family and fans carry them in their own travels was such an amazing experience. Looking forward to what 2016 may bring in the way of new projects.
