These past few days it really started to feel like Fall and I was quick to pull out some of the pieces that I’d been saving for the occasion. I wore this plaid mini and turtleneck situation on Friday to hear a talk at the AOL studios with legendary designer (and original #girlboss) Diane Von Furstenberg.

If you’re somehow not familiar with DVF she’s been at the helm of her own successful fashion line for decades, was the creator of the iconic wrap dress, managed an explosive career while being a single Mom, became President of the CFDA, has her own reality show ‘House of DVF’.. and about a million other accolades. What struck me most about her though – besides her impeccable taste, kind nature and great sense of humor – was how much of a champion of women she is. In the midst of NYFW when there sometimes seems to be a lot of competition out there among girls in the industry (whether models, bloggers, etc.) DVF was tossing around lines like “I’ve never met a woman who is not strong.” If she’s any reflection of our gender.. I’d definitely agree.
