Last weekend Adam and I thought outside the typical dinner and a movie date night box. We were still at the lake house in the Pocono Mountains of PA (big on lakeside relaxation, short on trendy hotspots) and Adam took me to explore this old building he had spotted earlier in the weekend. It turned out to be Hawley Silk Mill, a total local treasure.
SHOP THE STORY
The original working Mill burned down in the early 1900s and was rebuilt and then after shutting down for good, has been recently renovated into a gallery, boutique, coffee shop trifecta that offers live music and events on weekends too. Even better? The sweet gallery owner that personally led us, after hours, to the private back patio where he thought we could get even better photos (and a view of the waterfall!). He was right. And so was TLC when they said ‘don’t go chasing waterfalls’. If you get really lucky.. they find you.
