Is there anything more American than denim cut-offs, a white tee, and Sperrys? Just a few days away from the Fourth of July and I’m in full Americana mode. It might just be my favorite holiday, not only because of the fact that it falls at the height of Summer and involves fireworks and delicious food/drinks, but also because most of my warm weather wardrobe naturally happens to be red, white and blue. It just never goes out of style. And speaking of timeless – I picked up this fresh pair of Sperry sneakers just in time for another weekend at the lake. They’re pretty much a requirement if you’re going to be hanging out on a boat, right? I couldn’t resist lining them up with my friends old pair of Sperrys which have weathered quite a few storms at this point (one of them literally caught fire once.. and they still managed to survive). Incredibly resilient without losing their cool – just like America.

Hello!
I somehow stumbled across your blog while looking for reviews of Sperrys this evening. I am looking at purchasing my very first pair! I have read all sorts of stories on various websites about Sperrys making feet really sweaty so I have been hesitant to buy a pair in the past. Has this been your experience with Sperrys or are your feet always sweat-free when you wear them?
I am looking at purchasing a pair of Sperrys identical to the ones you are wearing in this outfit. I have never seen white Sperrys before!
Fantastic website, by the way! You have a new fan!
Sarah.

Hi Sarah! First of all, thanks so much for stopping by 🙂 To answer your question, I have 2 pairs of Sperrys and love them! I just got this new canvas sneaker pair and it took the weekend to break them in, but now they feel really comfortable and I didn’t find that my feet were overly hot in them at all (and I was wearing them out in the sun all day). The other pair I wear is their classic leather boat shoes – extremely comfortable – I never wear them with socks and walk to and from work in them a lot of days and never find my feet sweat in these either. I haven’t heard otherwise, but from my own experience I love them so I hope this helps!
