The Steele Maiden: Champagne Affair
If you’ve been checking in this week, you already saw Jess (of Prosecco and Plaid) and I team up with Asos to share our East Coast vs. West Coast ‘Home for the Holidays‘ looks.  And while I love a good casually festive look (and that sweater is now pretty much the softest thing I own) one of the things I love most about this time of year is the chance to really get dressed up.  The ‘Champagne Affair’ if you will, is like the shining star of the Holiday party circuit.  Your chance to go all out – sequins, shine, metallics, you name it.  Jess and I took a similar approach pairing a shiny showstopper of a dress with an oversized sweater/coat for warmth, black tights and heels.  A pretty much unbeatable combo.  While it was difficult to narrow down which party dress I wanted (seriously, have you seen the selection Asos is offering these days?), the search was over when I found this structured red plaid number.  Now pass the bubbly.

  1. How did the dress wear? I just ordered it a couple of days ago and am wondering if it’ll wrinkle and/or if it will cling to tights.

    1. Hi Katie – I wore it with these sheer tights that have a good bit of sheen to them so I didn’t feel like the dress was clinging at all. As far as wrinkles go, I ironed the dress out of the package (inside out) and I think the print and shine of the fabric ended up hiding most of the minor wrinkles from wear. Hope you end up loving it! xx
