A week before the trip and I’ve got small piles everywhere in our apartment of potential outfits, just ready and waiting to hit the road with me. This black and white palm print maxi dress was one of the first pieces I had set aside for Palm Springs. The Steele Maiden: Spring trends - wide leg chinos and bell sleeves

You guys. I hate to start every post talking about the weather.. but at heart I’m an 80 year old woman strolling through New York (this works well because at heart Adam is an 80 year old man grumbling about New York) and ALL I can talk about is our current weather. It’s glorious and giving me hope that I can in fact survive until true Spring. No better time to break out a new Spring trend then, right? Wide leg chinos are having a major moment for the season ahead and even though I was nervous to try them – I can tell you that they absolutely deserve a place in your wardrobe.

NEW YEARS EVE STYLE: VELVET WRAP DRESS AND TASSEL EARRINGS

NYE Party Style - Velvet Wrap Dress and Tassel Earrings

After the month of November (a month that calling ‘busy’ would be an understatement, had zero free weekends and led me to being painfully sick with a stomach bug for several days) – Adam and I decided to ring in December with a veryyy low key weekend. We slept in late, baked snickerdoodle cookies (my favorite), picked out our Christmas tree and decorated it, and went out/got dressed only when we felt like it. Not when an impending schedule dictated that we must. It was just what the doctor ordered. And luckily for the blog’s sake, twirling around downtown in this pretty velvet wrap dress was exactly what I felt like wearing on Sunday evening.
