I know, I know.. it’s only January. But I’m kind of over Winter fashion. Or at the very least, investing much in it. Since I’m already pretty well stocked on sweaters and boots – I’m carefully picking up pieces that I can wear now and also wear later. Here’s look at you, early Spring.

Somehow, we went from 70 degrees on Christmas Day to ‘I can’t feel my hands, face, anything’ cold over the past couple of days (note: these pictures were taken over the weekend when exposed ankles were still an option). Luckily, layers of cashmere, a warm coat and a dash of faux fur make frigid temps – temporarily – bearable.

Hello 2016! As much fun as it was to take a look back on 2015 – I’m fully ready to dive head first into 2016. I have lots of big plans for The Steele Maiden, so I took the past week to really slow down and create a focused plan for the coming year.

While I still can’t quite believe that Christmas is this week, I’m having an even harder time believing that the end of 2015 is just around the corner! But before the year slips away, it’s time to pull out some sequins, dust off your dancing shoes and celebrate the last 365 days. Adam and I hid out in his family’s cabin last NYE but this year feels like one to go out and sip champagne with the rest of New York. Here, a few outfit ideas to get you in the mood. Yesterday, Adam and I woke up to blue skies and October-like temperatures and we decided to jump in the car, escape the city and go for a Sunday drive. Since we didn’t have anywhere in particular to go we decided on a Christmas tree farm about an hour upstate. With room to roam, we spent the morning searching for the perfect tree.
