While I can’t wait for this week’s big meal, spending time with family & friends and having a few extra days off work – I’ll be the first to say I’m not looking forward to the holiday travel. Seasonally speaking, I’m not sure there is anything more beautiful than Fall in the Northeast. New York is just starting to turn it’s leaves, but on a quick overnight trip to the lake house in the Poconos this weekend – Adam and I got to really surround ourselves with foliage. And it just never loses it’s magic for me. Since it was already pretty chilly in the mountains, I layered up – starting with this plaid poncho.

When you’re living out of a suitcase, I try and focus on a handful of classics – like a striped shirt and black pleated skirt – and then mix things up with statement accessories – like this plaid scarf/wrap and red sunglasses.

Full length denim overalls (you know, the kind you wore if you were a 90s kid) continue to be a trend this Fall.. but I’ve got to be honest, I’m just not sure I can pull them off. So until I decide to give it a go, this more minimal black version hints at the trend without going overboard.
