^ That feeling when you’re both headed towards the weekend, arm in arm. We actually snapped these photos a couple weeks back when we were out at the lake house over Labor Day. There’s the cutest small town (Milton, PA) that we drive through and if there’s time, like to stop along our way. It was already feeling like Fall that particular morning and so we both were happy to have packed comfy denim, cozy button downs and soft knits (a striped tee for me and hoodie for him) – all from Old Navy.

CASUAL PLAID AND DISTRESSED DENIM: TWO WAYS

Plaid top and distressed denim with loafers

I was originally going to show these outfits in two separate posts – but when I noticed that both featured a casual plaid top, distressed denim and loafers.. I figured they were meant to be twinning together. Turns out this is my go-to weekend look because for the past two Saturdays I’ve reached for some variation. Comfortable, casual and a tiny bit holiday-inspired? A winning combo in my book.

An easy flannel button-down is a staple this time of year and when you pair it with a v-neck tee (these are my absolute favorite) there’s almost nothing more comfortable. This look is pretty no frills, so I added these holiday loafers (they’re embroidered with a car carrying a christmas tree on one foot and a tree-lined road on the other!) to put a little extra pep in my step. I’m definitely wearing these when we go to pick out our tree this weekend.
