On Saturday as we drove back to the city from the lake house there was a moment at a stoplight in which Adam and I looked at each other and we realized we were smack dab in the middle of the most picturesque small town… and since Adam is always scouting his next picture and I’m always chasing cute stoops/houses this place was pretty much a Fall dream. So promptly, the car was pulled over and we went for a wander.

As I’m writing this I’m curled up by the fire at my parent’s house in PA. Which basically is the very coziest way to spend a Sunday. Another good way to spend the afternoon? Online shopping. There are some killer sales happening right now which is perfectly timed since the weather looks like we’ll be saying goodbye to bare legs and light jackets very soon. Below a few of my favorites..

Anthropologie – Sales are few and far between here, but this weekend they’re offering 20% off all full-priced apparel w/ code FALLFUN. I’m wearing this dark orange turtleneck in photo 4 above and am obsessing over this vest.

The interesting side effect of having a blog is that you also end up having a sort of visual diary of your life. A way to scroll back through nearly every week of my life for the past 3 years. I particularly like to do this at the end of each season to reminisce through where Adam and I went, and naturally, what I wore. We may not have backyards in NYC (well, unless you’re very lucky) – but what we do have are pretty amazing parks. Washington Square Park is just a short walk away from our apartment and in the Summer one of my favorite activities is packing a picnic, soaking up the sun and watching the city pass by. It’s become a little tradition with Adam and I to have a NYC staycation over Memorial Day weekend. The city all but empties out and it’s fun to kick off Summer in the city where we live and love. Sunday the streets felt deserted and I hit the pavement in this little red dress.
