Happy February! Between Fashion Week and kicking off my half marathon training (will be sharing my tips and tricks this time around!) – I’ve got big plans for the month.  And honestly, since it’s freezing out and they’re calling for another snow storm to hit NY tonight, I am mainly just happy that we’re one month closer to Spring. Here are a few other things on my radar…-While Marsala (a deep wine-stained hue) is the color of 2015, Pantone has highlighted Aquamarine (an icy baby blue shade) as one of the top shades of Spring and I’m totally on board. These suede heels and this simple shift dress are perfect examples.-One of my favorite UK brands Missguided just launched an activewear line and I’ll be trying it out this week at a JumpLife class (cardio meets mini trampolines?! Wish me luck..). These leggings are my favorite so far but I’m excited to see how their gear performs.-Who’s ready to watch the Puppy Bowl I mean Super Bowl tonight? My friend Alyssa from Runway Chef shared this new take on nachos that would be perfect for a game day snack.-This past week (as I was frantically trying to find an outfit for work) Adam mentioned that some of the greatest minds wear the same thing to work every single day. Apparently creating a uniform (cartoon character-style) takes one decision off your mind, and so the theory goes, allows you to focus on other more important matters. While I tend to think what I wear (especially working in fashion) does matter, I like the idea of creating more streamlined routines to ease my day. Have any of you put this into practice? I’m dying to read this book to learn even more.Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I’ll see you back here tomorrow!

how to shop my instagram

Here on the blog I’m able to share exact details of where I found my new favorite sweater or the shoes I can’t stop staring at.. but there’s lots of content that never makes it to the blog which I share on my Instagram – like accessories of the day, a new shopping find or my weekly #frontstoopfridays – so I’ve started using LiketoKnow.it as a way to share the details of those looks.  I’ve had a few questions as to how it works so I figured a quick post would be a help. weekend flashback

They say New York is the city that never sleeps – and since moving back from LA (and long days of leisurely lounging on the beach), my schedule is living proof.  This Summer has flown by, often with late nights and early mornings, but I’ve been trying to embrace that lately.  Because after all, being busy isn’t so bad when it’s all things that make you really happy.  So before a few really hectic weeks of work, plans with friends and family and some really exciting things planned for the blog (hellooo NYFW) – I took the chance this weekend to slow down a bit.  Clean and organize the apartment, take long walks, workout, meet up with friends, catch up on work (like this long overdue weekend flashback post!), and even get a few more hours of all that sleep I used to love so much.

The Steele Maiden turns 2!
And just like that, The Steele Maiden has turned 2!
