Yeehaw! In my efforts to bring you the best of Fall Fashion this entire week on the blog – I present to you the first of the most major trends of the season: All things Western-Inspired. Think: ‘Annie Oakley meets Carrie Bradshaw’.
SHOP THE STORY:
This weekend, Adam and I took a road trip to the End of the World (aka Montauk – the Eastern most tip of Long Island). Jewelry brand Kendra Scott was hosting a pop-up shop party at luxury resort Gurney’s Montauk all weekend and had graciously extended an invite – so we decided to make a day of it. And what a day.
SHOP THE STORY:
Gurney’s is one of those places that looks like an actual postcard.. or you know, Instagram gold. Especially when the skies are as perfectly blue as they were on Saturday. With private cabanas, hammocks, an on the beach bar and DJ – it felt like all of New York’s Lower East Side had been transported to Montauk. Which, to be honest, was a little bit more of a scene than I’m usually in to – but when in Montauk right?
I wore this postcard print dress for the occasion and Kendra Scott jewels (naturally), Adam wore a nearly matching Hawaiian shirt (we inadvertently do this more often than I’d like to admit) and we both went straight for the Montauk Summer Ale.
Happy Friday! Another happy little note – Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale is now open to the public! Which – as a refresher – means you’re getting this Fall’s New Arrivals at major discounts (before prices go back up August 3rd). I already shared my shopping game plan for the sale here – but now that everyone can shop.. I’m back for round 2. This time, I’m focused on picking up the best of this season’s shoes and accessories – below my (admittedly extensive) wishlist:
SHOP THE STORY
Keeping it short and sweet today because, well, it’s Friday (and apparently I’ve got my party pants on). Yesterday it was unexpectedly cold in the city yesterday so while I was forced to bundle up – nothing could stop me from wearing all the Spring colors at once.

Continue reading “PASTELS AND PRINTS”Maybe even more so than a great necklace, I’ve realllyyy got a thing for earrings. But with so many different shapes and sizes (don’t even get me started on how long it took me to explain what an ear jacket was to Adam..), it’s good to have a few simple hairstyles mastered that let each pair really shine. So I teamed up with AOL’s StyleList to show you just that.
FOR STATEMENT EARRINGS:
The most dramatic, these always call to mind Old Hollywood glam for me – even if you’re dressing them down. I like to do a deep side part, soft curls and pin just one side back to let the earring really show. (p.s. hover over each pair for more info)
FOR SMALL STUDS:
Small on size but not on style, these are perfect for everything from the office to your weekend runaround. I like to pair mine with an equally no fuss hairstyle like a half pulled back look. Don’t worry if a few face framing pieces fall out, it adds to the throw it on and go feel.
FOR LINEAR/TASSELS:
Long and full of movement, these styles beg to shake it off on the dance floor. Or at the very least, be seen. They already call attention to your face (making them perfect for a romantic date!) so I like to let linear or tassel styles be the focus and pair with a sleek, low ponytail. Extra points if you wrap the ponytail holder with a small piece of hair from underneath!
