Of all the pieces I first debuted at the beginning of the holiday season (see them all in my ‘Complete Guide to the Holidays‘), this plaid coat and faux fur scarf have easily gotten the most wear since then. While I’ve definitely simplified my style over the years, I never find myself drawn to a minimalist aesthetic around the holidays. It just feels like way more fun to take the ‘more is more’ approach. Which is why piling on stripes, sequins and faux fur to all at once seemed completely rational last week.

One that’s less sequin mini dress and more polished midi skirt. This year I wanted to think beyond your typical red and green and went with a ‘winter whites’ inspired look with hints of navy and festive gold.
