My second day of NYFW was arguably one of my most fun – and I like to think that had a lot do with this outfit. I talked about it yesterday, but I like to go bolder than my typical style when it comes to Fashion Week and head to toe polka dots with a pop of sunny yellow surely qualifies, right? For this look I played up the bomber jacket trend which is everywhere for Fall. This one is my pick of the season because it’s reversible – lively dots on one side, essential cool black on the other. Win, win.
When it comes to New York Fashion Week (NYFW) – they say ‘go big or go home’. And while I still always want to feel like myself (especially as I’m meeting new brands/bloggers and representing my own brand), I definitely like to be bolder than the other 50 weeks of the year. For me – that means picking a few of the season’s biggest trends and really playing them up. On my first day of shows/events I went for a ‘Seventies inspired flight attendant’ vibe featuring this suede dress, structured handbag and metallic tassel loafers.
Looking for a Friday date night kind of outfit? The lace-up dress is your answer. This fall they come in every iteration (laces on sides, sleeves, front, hems..) but are all infinitely wearable and definitively alluring. For someone who typically favors a slouchy sweater or a flowy midi skirt – it’s fun to throw on something with a little more sass for a Friday night.
And just like that – Summer is over and Fall is here. Labor Day is one of my favorite times to take advantage of sales and pick up a few new items for the season ahead. Below – my top picks. Hope you’re all enjoying the long weekend!
I know that around these parts I’ve started to mention Fall fashion.. but IRL (in real life) I’m savoring every last second of Summer. That includes after dinner trips to the neighborhood’s best ice cream shops, outdoor movies in the park, spontaneous day trips on the weekends and as many visits to the lake house as we can possibly squeeze in. With that in mind – I need clothing that is #FitToBe as carefree as I am at the end of the summer season. Enter NYDJ. I took a few of my favorite pieces from the brand along with me for a Friday evening in New York, Saturday picnic by the water and Sunday evening dock date (aka I ran them through the ringer) and here’s how it went…
