Hey baby, take a walk on the wild side. Between this fringe coat and haircalf leopard heels, I was doing just that this past weekend – when the weather gave us the first hint of a winter chill and I needed an outfit that felt fun enough to combat that.

October is one of my favorite months (pumpkins, cool air, wearing layers…) and it also happens to be Breast Cancer Awareness month – which is a cause near and dear to my heart after seeing both my Grandmother and an Aunt fight the disease. So many of my friends and family have been in some way touched by Breast Cancer (or more broadly cancer in general) so any time that I can make an small contribution to the race for a cure I gladly do so. The products shown here all contribute a portion of proceeds to that cause and when good style meets a great cause it’s really a win, win.

I’m usually more of a shoe lady myself, but lately I’ve found myself crushing hard on handbags. And not just any.. but wine-hued handbags in particular. This little quilted crossbody has been featured in all three of my latest outfit posts (here, here and here), but I love the idea of a luxe, tasseled tote or in a glossy croc texture. Happy Birthday America! We’re spending the holiday weekend at the lake and until the rain has passed today I figured I’d share a quick round-up. If you’ve dropped by already this week than you already know I spent the weekend soaking up the sun at the beach, but I wanted to give you the play by play on exactly what I had in my travel bag. We were there just shy of 48 hours but managed to fit in everything from bike riding to relaxing on the beach to a Saturday dinner date. Which meant everything I packed needed to be super versatile. I wore this striped chambray top for the car ride and also out to breakfast Sunday morning and this cute cotton romper went from a beach cover-up to happy hour with the addition of heels and a swipe of lipstick. And most importantly – it is the beach after all! – I packed a cute high-waisted swimsuit (seen up close here) which I custom designed on the Surania site (you pick your own colors, prints, and cuts and the sizing is really personalized for a perfect fit).
