Since spring didn’t exactly feel like spring here in New York, the fact that Memorial Day is this upcoming weekend comes as a bit of a shock. But since it promises three day weekends, warmer temperatures and the clothes that go with it.. I’m all in.

Remember last Friday when I boasted I’d recently done my ‘spring cleaning’ and packed up all my winter clothes? Well this week started with me frantically digging for my coat as I ran 10 minutes late to work. 30 degree temps and a hectic few days followed leaving me more than ready for Friday… and is 60 degrees too much to ask for?

Anyone else excited about the prospect of an early Spring? Groundhog day predictions aside, I’ll take any excuse to ditch a heavy coat and scarf a few days of week in the winter and this look (worn for a brunch date a couple of weekends ago) is one that will be just as at home on a rainy April afternoon as it was on a mild January morning.

Hello 2016! As much fun as it was to take a look back on 2015 – I’m fully ready to dive head first into 2016. I have lots of big plans for The Steele Maiden, so I took the past week to really slow down and create a focused plan for the coming year.

I didn’t originally intend to take so many days off from posting for the holidays, but I just sort of slowly unplugged at Christmas and this past weekend.. and it felt pretty great.
