It seems this time of year I’m always rushing out of work straight to a holiday party, dinner with Adam, drinks with friends or some other festivities. Which is why planning an outfit that can take me from office to eggnog is crucial. From 9-5 a cashmere sweater, tailored trousers and nude heels means business… but sometime after 6PM? Just call these my party pants.

Faux fur, velvet, sequins.. getting dressed at the holidays is just more fun. But a lot of time – it feels like those fancy extras get reserved for after hours. So after I picked out this slouchy sequin top and these embellished flats from Boden (and I knew I couldn’t possibly wait to break them out until my first holiday party invite) I threw together this casual holiday look.

Black Friday deals were pretty good this year – but Cyber Monday? It can’t really be beat. Yesterday Adam told me there was only 6 Mondays left until Christmas and I had a mild panic attack. I actually am not even sure if it’s accurate, but I’m too afraid to check. Partially because I love the holidays and want them to slow down so I can really enjoy them to the fullest and partially because I haven’t really thought about gifts yet. While I can’t stop time, I like to think I can pick out a good gift – so I’m officially kicking off the holidays with my first gift guide here on the blog featuring ideas for the happy hostess, all under $50. Thanksgiving is just 2 weeks away (that I know for sure..) and while a bottle of wine is nice, these are wayyy more fun. I love the idea of cute stationery and a pack of shiny gold pens or a cocktail recipe book and pair of tumblers. And you can’t go wrong with a pretty apron or personalized serving tray (even better if it arrives with homemade cookies). Happy gifting!
