Stars, much like hearts, are one of those shapes that are mainstays when it comes to jewelry.  But I’ve always been partial to moons and with this season’s romantic/celestial feel, they seem to be showing up all over the place.  I’d layer a dainty necklace with a chunkier longer one (I’m loving the options that are a little more abstract), pair it with a maxi dress and ankle boots and you’ve got yourself a whole modern day Stevie Nicks thing going.

(Top Row: 1. Etsy studs; 2. Nordstrom necklace; 3. Ornamental Things necklace)
(Middle Row: 1. Free People necklace; 2. Urban Outfitters necklace; 3. Species by the Thousand earrings)
(Bottom Row: 1. Threadsence necklace; 2. Free People necklace; 3. Free People necklace)

I’ve always felt Monday’s were the easiest day to get dressed and a good way to set the tone for the rest of the week.  Both of the above looks would be great for a day at the office and easily transition to after hours dinner/drinks.   For him, masculine wool greys, a classic shirt in a trend right color, plus  rich cognac and metallic accents.  For her, a shirt dress made feminine with an airy drape, sturdy footwear, a hint of tonal pattern and a nod to menswear with a matching grey fedora.  Stay on a roll and keep Tuesday classy.

It’s been relatively grey here in LA the past few days (which is to say, still beautiful by most of the country’s standards), and so much of the weekend was spent running errands, breaking in my new wedge sneakers, cooking at home, and prepping our Halloween costumes (see my recommendation for Moonrise Kingdom here).  Here’s hoping the coonskin hat and toy binoculars I ordered from Amazon are delivered in time!
