While I’m not wishing away Summer (I’ve still got a mile long bucket list to cross off!) – last weekend at the lake there was the tiniest hint of crisp Fall air in the mornings and at night. And it felt kind of great. Not least of all because I love dressing for that weather. Long-sleeved tees, bare legs, a light scarf, suede ankle boots.. the good stuff.

We may not have backyards in NYC (well, unless you’re very lucky) – but what we do have are pretty amazing parks. Washington Square Park is just a short walk away from our apartment and in the Summer one of my favorite activities is packing a picnic, soaking up the sun and watching the city pass by. While my typical color palette is a whole lot of blue, white, black and red – I’ve been falling for olive green lately, especially in the form of this utility dress which nearly blended in with the greens of Tompkins Square Park behind me.

Blame it on the heat but this weekend was nowhere near as productive as I meant for it to be. Instead of tackling my to do list, I wandered around the neighborhood yesterday in this easy white denim shorts and printed shirt combo. That’s what Summer is for, right?
