How it’s already Wednesday and this is my first post of the week, I’ll never know. This week (and I hate to admit it this whole summer) feels like it’s flying by in a blur. Anyone else? Most Mondays-Thursdays pass me by with work days that last anywhere from 10-13 hours on average, trying to squeeze in a couple of workouts or a date night with Adam and you know.. that little thing called sleep. Which means that on the weekends I’ve been trying to reallyyyy slow down and savor it – which means no fuss outfits like this fringed summer sweater and my favorite high-waisted denim shorts.
I originally picked up this palm print minidress for my girls’ trip to New Orleans a few weeks back (that travel guide is still coming soon I promise!) because it felt like just the thing for a Jazz Brunch and wander through the Garden District. And also because it’s lightweight and breezy for that famous Nola heat. But with temps reaching the mid-nineties in New York this week I figured it was time to break it back out.
Couldn’t the long weekend just be a little, well… longer? Luckily it makes for a very short work week (Summer Fridays are a godsend I tell ya). Either way, if you’re dragging a bit this week – outfits that require zero thought are going to come in handy and sticking with monochrome head to toe couldn’t get easier.
Backyard barbecues, lazy days by the water, endless happy hours and honestly… all these sales. We’re having a 4 day stay-cation in the city this year to celebrate and you can bet I’ll be picking up a few summer things on major discount (like this swoon-worthy gingham bucket bag, cute one-piece bathing suit and fringe-y slides). I’ve rounded up some of the best of the best Fourth of July sales for you below so you don’t have to do the legwork and can get back to having a happy, relaxing, fun holiday weekend!
Weekends at the lake (or the beach.. or the park…) mean I’m in a swimsuit and some form of cover-up pretty much all day. I’ve been loving lightweight tunics lately that provide a bit of coverage late in the day, are easy to toss on and off, and look just as good with a few wrinkles here and there. Besides the tunic love – I’ve rounded up a bunch of options here included cute tank dresses, breezy drawstring pants and easy kaftans (plus a few add-on accessories!) sure to up your lake/beach/pool-side game this summer.
