I talked a bit yesterday about wanting to really streamline my wardrobe. While mostly for me that means cleaning out my closet, it also means taking a much more concentrated approach when it comes to new purchases.
If you follow me on Instagram (or newly, on snapchat at ‘thesteelemaiden’) then you already know that Friday’s impossible cold brought frozen pipes in our apartment that Adam and I spent all Friday night nursing back to life. Needless to say, by Saturday morning we were more than ready to get out of the apartment and the city to head home to Pennsylvania for a quick 24 hour trip.
One week and countless shows later, NYFW has finally wrapped. This season marked the last time the tents will stand at Lincoln Center and while I can’t predict where they’ll head next – I can predict the trends you’ll be seeing everywhere come Fall (or if you’re like me and just can’t wait – how you can wear them right now).
Looking at these pictures still makes me cold if that’s any indication of the serious wind chill at the tents on Sunday. I was there early for the RanFan show (a relative newcomer that killed it when it came to outerwear – I’m talking satin embellished trenches, leather hooded bombers and major pops of saturated color) and we managed to take all of 10 pictures before I went running for the closest Starbucks.
Saturday (or Day 3 in NYFW speak) was in short, a really great day. It was one of my busiest days at the Lincoln Center tents, plus Valentine’s Day, and generally just one of those picture perfect snowy New York days.
