Whether you have a fancy Thanksgiving dinner with family, a corporate Christmas party or an annual trip to see the Nutcracker – I find myself in need of at least one classic holiday style each year. One that’s less sequin mini dress and more polished midi skirt. This year I wanted to think beyond your typical red and green and went with a ‘winter whites’ inspired look with hints of navy and festive gold. Hello party season. So nice to see you again. Statement earrings, red lips, fancy clutches that barely fit a thing. I love it all. And while a little black dress will certainly do just fine with any of the pre-mentioned accessories.. why not mix things up a bit? An embroidered party dress is the way to go.

There’s a point in the season where I stop fretting over the fact that winter is coming and starting being full out incredibly excited for the holidays. The day I put this buffalo plaid cape on was my turning point. The bright red bicycle trimmed like a tree certainly didn’t hurt either.

Yesterday I launched part one of my ‘Complete Guide to the Holidays‘ which featured style inspiration & gifting ideas for the season ahead – and over the next couple of weeks I’ll be showing you the expanded posts and closer looks at some of those featured looks. Of everything we shot for the guide this feature on ‘His and Hers Holiday Style’ was by far my favorite. I’m lucky enough to always have Adam’s partnership behind the scenes/lense (that guide never would have launched on time had it not been for his tireless support) – but it was such a treat to have him with me in front of the camera as well. And in a classic ’54 chevy? All the better.
