There’s something fairly magical about watching the season’s change in Central Park. So on Saturday, Adam and I went to take in a bit of that magic in the late afternoon light. Since we did quite a bit of walking, I kept it comfortable in flat espadrilles and a classic shirtdress.
I’ve worn this striped linen dress at least once a week since I picked it up earlier this season. It’s impossibly comfortable (and it doesn’t wrinkle!) and just heavy enough weight to make it work for these cool spring mornings when paired with a light jacket.
I’ve been working these past couple of years to build a wardrobe that feels classic but not boring, modern but not dated, and largely interchangeable for day or night, work or play. All of the pieces I’m wearing meet those discerning requirements. Last Summer I often paired this pinstripe top with a pencil skirt at the office, but this past weekend I pulled it back out for a date night with a faux-leather mini skirt instead. Which I last paired with sneakers and a crewneck sweatshirt for brunch. And these elastic strap heels have been paired with everything from ripped denim to floral dresses. See what I mean?
By this point, if nothing else, you should know that I love a good blue/white color combo and I also love a good wall. This past Sunday afternoon I happened into both and was a very happy little lady.
