This time of year I find myself reaching for winter basics more than anything else. Blame it on the post-holiday blues, a busy work schedule or the biting cold, but I just can’t seem to be bothered with things other than closet staples in the month of January. That’s fine by me though when it involves things like my favorite black denim or this new fisherman sweater I’d been searching for ages to find.

Aside from the sweater (on sale and easily going to become the most worn thing in my wardrobe this month) the rest of this look I’ve had for awhile now. There’s a lot of focus on new year, new you.. but honestly – what about classic you? I like her too. Plus since my closet is already jammed to the gills thanks to this new parka I’m hanging tight to the old me right now. Note: that doesn’t apply to last year’s half-assed workout routine or proclivity for the snooze button. Those have gotta go.
