After the month of November (a month that calling ‘busy’ would be an understatement, had zero free weekends and led me to being painfully sick with a stomach bug for several days) – Adam and I decided to ring in December with a veryyy low key weekend. We slept in late, baked snickerdoodle cookies (my favorite), picked out our Christmas tree and decorated it, and went out/got dressed only when we felt like it. Not when an impending schedule dictated that we must. It was just what the doctor ordered. And luckily for the blog’s sake, twirling around downtown in this pretty velvet wrap dress was exactly what I felt like wearing on Sunday evening.

This crushed velvet wrap dress is the color of champagne which makes it perfect for parties this time of year (I actually love the thought of it for New Years Eve), but truthfully I bought it because it makes me feel like a figure skater. We’ve been making plans to get me real white leather ice skates this winter for trips to the rink in Central Park. I’m convinced that if I had pretty non rental skates I’d be better, and Adam is convinced it just takes more practice (this from a great skater). Here’s hoping I’ll be twirling in this little number one way or another straight into 2017. Glitter encrusted tights not included.
