New Yorker’s get a bad wrap about wearing a lot of black. So to prove that we don’t always take ourselves so seriously.. I figured I’d throw in a little navy for Summer. Really shake things up.

This silhouette (an off the shoulder top, draped midi skirt and sky-high platforms) reminds me a little of Sophia Loren-style Old Hollywood. The balance here is key – because without the longer length skirt and higher waist line, I couldn’t have taken this cropped top to the office. But here – in a more subdued colors and conservative cuts, the look is a little bit Summer holiday, a little bit 2 PM budget meeting. Leave it to a New Yorker.
