Of all the pieces I first debuted at the beginning of the holiday season (see them all in my ‘Complete Guide to the Holidays‘), this plaid coat and faux fur scarf have easily gotten the most wear since then. Okay this flannel sleepshirt is in the running.. but the first two have definitely seen the most light of day.

I like that together they are warm and practical but also festive and playful. Making even my trusty denim jacket and favorite leather ankle boots feel a little bit more special. It’s been just the combo for the kind of week I’ve had (long lines doing last minute shopping, frantic work deadlines before the holiday break, losing my wallet.. need I go on?), when I’ve wanted to be in the Christmas spirit but frankly didn’t have the time to devote much more to my style than this. And if all else fails.. I’m heading straight for this Peppermint Prosecco cocktail which is sure to do the trick.
