While I attended the majority of this year’s weddings between June and August, I’ve got one more in October to round out my ‘5 weddings in 5 months’ situation (you can see what I wore to the others here and here). While it’s easy to find a pretty pastel or bright floral number for summer weddings, I wanted something that felt more seasonal for this final celebration. And I’m not sure anything could feel more like Fall than a gorgeous marigold lace midi dress and rich burgundy suede pumps. Just the thing to get me excited to cross the finish line of this year’s wedding season marathon.
SHOP THE STORY
After spending most of the summer in casual cotton dresses with my hair in a messy bun and minimal make-up, it feels really exciting to get dressed again. And I’m guessing that’s been showing in the photos around here. In those sweltering days of summer Adam and I struggled with finding the motivation to really explore much of the city. But now that there’s the slightest crispness in the air, we’ve been out all day on the weekends finding new hidden gems like these ornate doors in Greenwich Village. All dressed up and twirling through the streets with an armful of fresh blooms felt like we’d been transported to Paris. And while in reality I’ll be wearing this dress to a small ceremony in Pennsylvania.. we’ll always have these photos. Which is almost the same as Paris, right?
