FRINGE SWEATER AND FLORAL SKIRT

And just like that, summer is here. And the kick-off weekend certainly didn’t disappoint. I came back from a few days at the lake looking a little more tan and feeling a lot more relaxed as we head into a short week.

I love summer in this city – even when it’s 99% humidity and we’re all melting into the sidewalk. It’s the season of short skirts, ice cream trucks, air-dried hair, long walks and late nights. On Monday, Adam and I got back early and had the sidewalks nearly to ourselves – so we grabbed brunch, strolled the neighborhood, shopped for new houseplants and caught a mid-day movie (mainly for the cold soda and blasting A/C). It was the perfect lazy day off. I wore this easy fringe sweater (I’ll pair it with cropped trousers for the office), a floral mini-skirt and a favorite straw boater hat.
