Faux fur, velvet, sequins.. getting dressed at the holidays is just more fun. But a lot of time – it feels like those fancy extras get reserved for after hours. So after I picked out this slouchy sequin top and these embellished flats from Boden (and I knew I couldn’t possibly wait to break them out until my first holiday party invite) I threw together this casual holiday look.

Adam and I went down to South Street Seaport over the weekend (one of our favorite little neighborhoods to wander through) to do some window shopping & check out the Christmas tree and while I could have worn a sweater and oxfords with these skinny jeans – subbing in sequins felt infinitely more festive. And even though I’m usually a heels girl, how can I argue with a pair of flats so good they can take me from a hot chocolate date to a late night champagne-fueled dance party?!
