While I can’t wait for this week’s big meal, spending time with family & friends and having a few extra days off work – I’ll be the first to say I’m not looking forward to the holiday travel. I’ve taken trains, buses, cars and planes to get home on various holidays and it’s never without stress. Which is precisely why I wanted to add a dose of glamour back to the task. Grand Central Station and step on it darling…
SHOP THE STORY
I think there’s a tendency to go super casual when you travel, but this outfit? Incredibly comfortable. And it’s perfect if you are going straight from traveling to the holiday meal. This wool checked jacket is just an all-out showstopper and whether it’s thrown on over jeans or this sweater/skirt combo – it totally makes an outfit. It’s also a great weight, thick enough for our recent temps when paired with this warm sweater, but not so heavy that you burn up once you get inside (or lug those heavy bags). I’ll be traveling light this year with just a short drive down to PA for a couple of days, so this overnight bag is all I’ll bring and these black Chelsea boots (such a closet staple – I don’t know how I’d gone this long without a pair) will definitely be making the trip.
Talbots Wool Jacket (wearing a size 2), Turtleneck Sweater, Ankle Boots (these run narrow, I would suggest going up a half size if you have a medium/wider foot) and Plaid Scarf c/o (scarf and boots are 40% off through 11/25 ) | Sole Society Mason Bag c/o | French Connection Skirt c/o | Gigi NY Crossbody Bag c/o
I tried this coat on and it is just about perfect – however, waiting for that Black Friday Sale to buy it at 50% – love the lining plaid lining, too. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
I love it! And yes – I’m definitely holding out for the big Black Friday sale to pick up a few more things 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours too <3
