We had originally planned on taking these pictures by a standard brick wall but the lighting wasn’t quite right, so we strolled back into a nearby neighborhood and suddenly there it was – Fall. As I know and love it. Fallen leaves and colorful trees and even the air felt different. It was like we were right back on the East Coast again. And any time that your new shoes match with your environment it feels a bit like a fairytale, no? To be fair, I may have been feeling extra nostalgic this particular evening because I was wearing this sweater for the first time this year. This grey sweater, which might just be my favorite item of clothing (a bold statement, I know). Aside from being perfect in shape and color, I found it for only $2 (100% cashmere!) in a thrift store when I lived in Philadelphia before it moved with me to New York and helped me survive several more cold winters. But the real reason? I was wearing this sweater the night I met the boy behind the camera. SO cute – love this outfit! Pieces with meaning are always my favorite items in my closet 🙂
Thanks Abigail! And I know, that’s why I have such trouble getting rid of anything in my closet!
Loving that skirt and those shoes!
(Also, congrats btw on your feature as Ruchette of the month! Well deserved!)
That’s so sweet Rebecca, thank you! And these shoes may just be my new favorite – I can’t wait to wear them for the Holidays 😉
That is so precious. I don’t think I will ever be able to get rid of the outfit I was wearing the night I met my husband even though I don’t think i’ll ever wear it again (it’s not nearly as classic as your sweater).
I know right? I think I’ll be keeping this sweater (and the boy) forever 😉
I’m convinced that chambray makes the world go round. I love it here with your sweatshirt and skirt!
Luci’s Morsels – fashion. food. frivolity.
Seriously Luci – it’s nearly embarassing the amount I wear this chambray shirt!
I am in love with those shoes! the color is just gorgeous.
Kaity – hurry and get them before they sell out! My size is already gone, but I can tell they’re just as pretty in person and are going to be perfect with tights if California ever gets cold!
Beautiful pictures and outfit. I adore your shoes and also the skirt. Perfect color for fall.
