Hello 2016! As much fun as it was to take a look back on 2015 – I’m fully ready to dive head first into 2016. I have lots of big plans for The Steele Maiden, so I took the past week to really slow down and create a focused plan for the coming year.

2015 – you were quite a year. While not without its ups and downs, when I look back at this year on the whole I feel incredibly grateful for everything that it brought. To be completely honest with you, at this time last year I was thinking of throwing in the towel on this little blog. But instead I decided to redesign and refocus and I can’t tell you how happy I am that I did. And how happy I am that all of you have stuck around for the ride. There have been so many cool opportunities that came our way this year (remember when we met Taylor Swift?!) that made every second Adam and I spend on this labor of love completely worth it. So thank you, for every comment, visit and follow. For giving us a reason to always want to plan new stories, shoot new content and seek out new fashionable journeys. Here’s to 2016. Anyone else getting a little sick of these endless grey skies? Me too. But I couldn’t let a little gloomy weather stop me from getting all dressed up one last time in 2015. This little lace dress and oversized faux fur collar make for a luxe look (in case you’re anything like me and not all about the sequin mini dress) just in time to ring in 2016.

I didn’t originally intend to take so many days off from posting for the holidays, but I just sort of slowly unplugged at Christmas and this past weekend.. and it felt pretty great. I’m hoping all of you had the chance to do the same. Feeling refreshed and ready to get back at it for the last few days of 2015 (how did that happen again??!)

While I still can’t quite believe that Christmas is this week, I’m having an even harder time believing that the end of 2015 is just around the corner! But before the year slips away, it’s time to pull out some sequins, dust off your dancing shoes and celebrate the last 365 days. Adam and I hid out in his family’s cabin last NYE but this year feels like one to go out and sip champagne with the rest of New York. Here, a few outfit ideas to get you in the mood. I’m loving this sequin shift (40% off right now!) with tassel earrings and embellished heels – or this cutout lace mini with metallic clutch and a pair of strappy heels.
