In a fantasy life, I live at the beach and take long walks every morning collecting seashells. In my fantasy life I am not the type of person that feels compelled to work 7 days a week. In my fantasy life, I’m apparently a retiree. Until then? This pretty little beaded seashell t-shirt and boyfriend jeans make me pretty relaxed. And I can settle for that.
While life in the city typically means heels on the go, life at the lake calls for shoes that feel more laid back and comfortable. Shoes that I can kick my feet up in or toss off into the boat. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want them to still be cute. Which is wear Sebago comes in. I actually first wore the brand last summer at the lake (in this post) and fell in love with their easy going attitude and comfy fit. So this summer, I knew I wanted to stock my lake wardrobe with a few more pairs. Here – exactly where my Sebagos take me when I escape the city hustle for some peace and quiet by the lake.
Anyone else still struggling after that longggg weekend?! We spent the holiday at the lake and I’m almost never as relaxed as I am when I’m there. This barn and open field are just a short drive from the lake house and we drove over early our first morning there to take in the utter silence and fresh air. I wore this floral maxi dress and lace-up sandals – an outfit that I ended up wearing twice while we were there. Was the weekend that long or is this outfit that good? A little of both perhaps.
We’re headed to the lake for 4th of July weekend and I couldn’t be more excited for a few days of relaxing on the dock, hanging on the boat and soaking up sun (here’s hoping the weather cooperates!). No matter where you’re going, I’m guessing some of the above pieces will work. I keep it pretty casual at the lake, which means plenty of easy cotton tops or dresses (who cares if they get a little wrinkled), bright bikinis, comfy slip-on shoes and maybe a starry accessory or two for the big fireworks show over the water.
Summer always seems to be one of the busiest times of year for me. Between hectic long work days (we work long hours Monday-Thursday and have off for Summer Fridays at my office) and heading out of town many weekends, I want clothes that I don’t have to think too much about and work just as well in the city as they would at the lake. This outfit checks all the boxes.
